2015 - 2016 Grants

Welcome to D7090 Grants Page for the Rotary year 2015-2016.  Once again, all Rotary Districts around the world were encouraged to start the planning process in 2014-2015 for this year of implementation.

Club Qualification

Qualification assures The Rotary Foundation that your club has the proper financial and stewardship controls in place to successfully manage grant funds. Grant management encompasses everything from selecting projects and activities to applying for a grant to ensuring proper stewardship of funds to evaluating and reporting grant outcomes.

Clubs must be qualified by their district each Rotary year in order to apply for District and Global Grants. To complete the qualification process, a club must:
  1. Have the president-elect or a designated club representative (minimum 2 people) attend their District Grant Management seminar.
  2. Read and agree to the club memorandum of understanding (MOU), and the Addendum and submit copies of both to the District Grant Subcommittee Chair, John Teibert, within the required date for submission.  The documentation should be signed by the club president and president-elect for the year of implementation. The MOU is an agreement between a club and its district explaining the minimum Foundation requirements for managing grants. Your club’s policies and local laws may exceed these requirements.
  3. Agree to any additional District qualification guidelines.
In preparation for this year, our district held our District Grant Management seminar in Depew, New York on Saturday, October 4th, 2014 from 8:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. In accordance with the requirements of D7090 club qualification, we were pleased to receive some 144 registrants which positioned some 53 clubs, 76% of the clubs, to submit the required Memo of Understanding (MOU) and Addendum by the November 30th, 2014 deadline as part of the qualification process.  An outstanding number of the eligible clubs completed this requirement and are poised to apply for 2015-2016 Rotary Foundation Grant monies.

UPDATE OCTOBER 2015

As previously advised on August 10, 2015 to the relative District Grant applicants, our District Grant Spending Plan for 2015-2016 was approved by The Rotary Foundation Trustees as submitted.   It is anticipated that many clubs are undertaking their approved proposals and we look forward to their timely submission of the Final Report.

Of course, the opportunity to engage in a Global Grant this Rotary year continues as there is no deadline for Global Grants, subject only to availability of District Designated Funds, DDF,  see current position in the SUB PAGE, SHARE REPORT October 2015.
