A NEW FOCUS

The D7090 Member Recruitment Committee is excited to announce it has a team of 8 members so far: Gordon Crann (Chair), Catherine Bonifant, Keith Flexman, Paul Leon, Tammy Otminski, Wendy Sanders, Howard Weinstein and (as ex-officio) Membership Director PDG Kevin Crosby.  The team held its first meeting online using Zoom on December 21, 2017.  At the start of the meeting, PDG Kevin outlined the broad strategies and goals for developing members in District 7090.
 
Some of the ways discussed to help existing clubs improve their member recruitment efforts, included:
  • Online Recruitment Webinar;
  • Focus on Recruitment in Future Monthly District Membership Newsletter;
  • Multi-Club Co-operation in Organizing Community-wide Membership Events;
  • Hands On Efforts to Strengthen Ties with Community Service Agencies;
  • Seeking Input from Community Leaders through “Big Ideas Forums”;
  • Recognizing Local Business & Community Leaders with Paul Harris Awards or as Honorary Rotarians; and
  • Satellite Clubs.
The team also discussed ideas for chartering new clubs, including:
  • A Global Rotaract E-Club of Social Innovators;
  • Clubs Focused on a Cause;
  • “Tonic” After Work Over Drinks Clubs;
  • “Coffee” or “Tea” Before Work or Mid to Late Morning Clubs;
  • “Passport” Clubs focused on attending other clubs’ meetings, volunteering on other clubs’ projects & supporting other clubs’ fundraising events while holding a minimum of 4 “in person” meetings per year;
  • Ethnic-based Clubs; and
  • Age-based Clubs.
