UPDATE for Ontario Clubs on Timelines in light of additional emergency measures. As you are now aware Premier Ford has extended the 4-week COVID-19 shutdown to 6 weeks and has mandated social gatherings of 5 people to single families only.
Some of you were planning to proceed next Saturday with appropriate safety measures.  In New York State many of our Clubs are proceeding, as they do not have the same rigid regulations that have been mandated here.  Across many American Districts, the Cleanup is still on track and they will be proceeding.

As you know the District recommended that the April 24th date be extended to the end of May for any clubs not prepared to proceed now.  I expect that all of the Ontario Clubs will pause and postpone any cleanup activities until June at the earliest.

Many of you have put together partnerships with other organizations and friends of Rotary.  I believe that we will be able to pivot, once again, to renew these partnerships and proceed when it is allowed and safe to do so.

This may well be in our next Rotary year, Summer or Fall, and that works as Rotary International will formally adopt “The Environment” as our 7th Area of Focus in July.

I would like to thank all of you for embracing this initiative and look forward to proceeding later this year.

If you have any comments or suggestions please feel free to reach out.

Yours in Rotary Service,
Frank Adamson,
Governor,
Rotary Club of Fonthill.
