Michele will fulfill the role of District Governor Nominee Designate, then District Governor Nominee and District Governor Elect on her way to becoming Governor, a journey of 2 and 1/2 years, requiring substantial commitment. Michele will serve as DGND until June 30, and, on July 1, start the new Rotary year as Governor Nominee.
Many of you may know Michele in her service as an active member of the Public Image Committee. She recently served as Assistant Governor for Area 16 in Chautauqua County for 3 years, and is currently District Chair of Membership. Our DGND has been busy traveling about WNY and Southern Ontario, hosting in-person "Journey to 2,000," Membership meetings.
What is Journey to 2,000? Michele will share her inspiration and enthusiasm with you as she explains our D7090 Membership goal! This energetic leader is looking forward to serving on several other District committees as she prepares for her DG role.
Michele is a proud member of the Dunkirk-Fredonia Rotary Club who joined in April of 2010. She is a Paul Harris Fellow, has served on the Visioning team, is currently on the Conference planning team, and has participated in multiple RI trainings. She is a Certified Property Manager, and a small business entrepreneur specializing in HR Development, Female Empowerment, and Youth Development & Leadership.
Michele is the wife of Steven Woods, a retired music educator who is the Director of Music at his church. Together, they have four daughters, one son, and six grandchildren. Michele always credits her Polish-Catholic upbringing and the altruistic ways of her parents in shaping her to be the Service Above Self woman, that she is today.
It is important to our newest DGND to hear your Rotary ideas, concerns, goals, and successes, she encourages you to send her an email to schedule a time to talk or meet in person.
