After having attended the University of Western Ontario, she moved provinces to attend the University of Saskatchewan and earn a Master’s in Applied Social Psychology. She used her studies at the graduate level to transition to a lifelong career of consulting to businesses about issues as it relates to leadership, performance, and change.
It was in 1992 that a Rotarian, by the name of Patrice Vivian, introduced her to the world of Rotary. She said there was no better place to network and learn from individuals successful in business and in their community. She was absolutely right and Anne proudly joined the Rotary Club of Hamilton in April of that year.
She became active in the vocational committee, membership committee, and the TV Auction which was the big fundraiser for her club at that time. She served as Club President from 2002-2003. She also coordinated volunteers from 15+ clubs in two districts to support Telling Tales - a festival and organization dedicated to encouraging children and teens to find the love of reading.
Ever since she became a Rotarian, she has been involved in the District activities - first attending learning opportunities such as the District Assembly(s). She went on to serve as Chair of the Club Leadership Training, became a facilitator for Rotary Leadership Institute, engaged as an Assistant Governor, and today has a leadership role helping clubs with their visioning process.
Anne completed her second term as Club President for the Rotary Club of Hamilton AM in 2019-20. She joined this energetic and amazing club in April 2016.
She is active with her consulting firm, 2WA Consulting, which she runs with her business partner Hamilton AM Rotary Club Past President Michael H. Howes. She is also a certified Forum Chair and facilitates three CEO Forum groups for MacKay CEO Forums.
In her personal life, Anne is a busy volunteer – active not only in Rotary but also Past Chair of the Board of Directors of the United Way of Halton and Hamilton. She is also involved in the LPGA Amateurs Board of Directors for her local chapter. The other hats that she wears with pride are that of being a wife to Gabriel Sedran and mother of two young men - Carmichael and Alistair.
