New Rotarians

As a Rotarian, you join 1.2 million people worldwide in a quest to create lasting change around the globe. You are united with leaders from all continents, cultures, and occupations and have a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and take action in local and global communities.

As you embrace your new Rotary membership, become engaged in your Club and the world of Rotary around you, we want you to know that we (all the Rotarians) are all here to support you.

Rotary can be as big or small as you want it to be. Whether you are looking to volunteer within your local community or explore the opportunities to engage Rotary outside of your club and community, the possibilities are endless.

Becoming a new Rotarian shouldn't be overwhelming. Take your time in getting to know your Club, other neighboring Clubs, your District and when you are ready, take a dive into the deeper world of Rotary.

The Rotary Learning Center

As a Member of Rotary, you have access to additional resources once signed in to your www.myrotary.org account.  In the main menu Learning and Reference tab, you can find the Learning Center. Here you have access to various learning opportunities in areas of RI Council, Club Goal Setting, Membership, Roles, Grants, Service Projects, the Foundation and our many Youth Programming Investments.

  • Getting To Know Your District 7090

  • The Rotary Foundation - learn about the unique features of the Rotary Foundation, our causes, programs, how to get more involved and how your support of Rotary is working across the globe

  • Sign Up To Receive Newsletters - there are various Rotary newsletters you may be interested in receiving

  • Join a Committee at your club - talk to your sponsor or a club leader/mentor about what committees your club has and how you can become involved.

  • Join an International Rotary Action Group or Special Interest (Fellowship) Group - once logged into your MyRotary account, simply click on Exchange Ideas to learn more.

Annual Training Opportunities Through District 7090 and Rotary International

Every year, on both sides of the border, Rotary International District 7090 (which includes clubs from across Southern Ontario and Western New York), hosts additional training opportunities for you to learn more and become more engaged in the great work we do through the World of Rotary.

  • Club/District Training Assembly - A training day which supports you in becoming a leader in your Club.

  • Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) - A three part training series to deepen your knowledge and skill in Rotary.

  • Rotary International Convention - An annual convention of Rotarians from around the world!
