Robert "Bob" Artis

Bob was raised in Hayti, Missouri (Southeast) commonly known as The Boothill. He completed his secondary education there and later served honorably in the US Army.
  
Bob began his career in 1966 as a defense contractor with Philco Ford in Thailand. He later joined Federal Electric, Division of ITT also as a defense contractor in Germany. Upon completion of those assignments, he joined SUNY College at Brockport in 1969 as a non-teaching professional on their media staff. During this time he was enrolled as a part time student in Electronic Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology; Rochester, NY.  Bob had a yearning to become involved in the public/private sector and in 1976 joined the McDonalds Corp. as a general manager.
 
In July 1978, Bob was invited to join Management Recruiters, Inc. of Rochester, New York as a part of their global human resource professional staffing and recruitment firm. In 1979, he was honored and recognized as Rookie of the Year. In 1980, Bob was promoted to manager and earned the prestigious award of Manager of the Year. In 1984, he purchased the Sales Consultant franchise in Buffalo, NY where he has maintained a position in the top ten percentile of firms of his size for the majority of his career.

Bob has been married to Corine for 53 years and they have four sons: Lamonte, Ian (deceased) Tony (deceased) and Keith. Bob and Corine are active in the Rotary Club of Clarence and for 30 years Bob has maintained perfect attendance. They have hosted Rotary Youth Exchange Students from five countries: Japan, Thailand (four times), Bolivia, Georgia (Soviet Union) and Germany. They have also hosted Rotary Group Study Exchange Teams from six countries: Italy, Sweden, Thailand, and Ethiopia East Africa, India and Australia.   
 
In addition, Bob is an Honorary Charter Member of Wangchan Rotary Club, District 3360, in Thailand. Given his deep conviction to the good work undertaken in the name of Rotary, Bob is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, Sustaining Member, Benefactor and Bequest Society member of The Rotary Foundation.
