The District provided funding to support to any Club wishing to engage in a refresh and rebrand of their web site. The purpose of this initiative championed by the District Public Image Committee is to provide clubs across the District with a consistent brand look, strong visual impact and ease of access to key information from the homepage. 80% of member clubs participated in this initiative.
The final stage of this project involved a refresh of the District website to provide a more focused support to member Clubs. The District website is envisioned as being the flagship website for District 7090.
A brand new website has been developed to support District 7090 Rotaract clubs. Rotaract7090.org launched in June 2021.

Going Forward
In Rotary Year 2022-23 a budget has been provided by the District to provide support to District Chairs in maintaining their section of the website, and to circle back to each participating Club to provide support going forward.
The Club Support follow-up will begin in September 2022.
Our developer Melissa Wells will be contacting clubs who are participants in the refresh initiative in the order that they originally signed on. Potential items that can be provided include:
- 5 new homepage slider images, to include the next fundraising event, one past successful event/initiative, one cause/project highlight and two images of club members having fun
- Refresh the news/stories – make sure that recent posts are within the last month and provide 3-6 new stories. May include cheque presentations, causes, past speakers, Rotarian profile/meet the Rotarian
- Check that upcoming events are posted on the calendar, including recurring weekly meetings (with correct location info now that clubs are returning to in person meetings) and fundraising/community service events.
- Club review of existing content pages for accuracy
- New pages required? Clubs will provide text and pictures. This could include a common page among clubs that would feature the "People of Action" Rotary Theme.
- Address questions that have arisen after working with ClubRunner
Our Developer
Welland Rotarian and Web Programmer Melissa Wells was hired to provide an initial interview with participating clubs, followed by a redesign of their website. This was followed by a training session and a video of that session.

Who did the work?
This work was supported by professional web developer and designer, Melissa Wells, who is a member of the Welland Rotary Club.
Did clubs have any say in the design?
Yes, after registering, clubs were contacted by Melissa Wells of Ex Nihilo Website Designs to schedule a Zoom kick off call. There were a select number of templates to choose from. Please view a few samples to the left on this page with links to the live club page.
How were Clubs selected to have this work done?
This was done based on a Queue System of first come first served basis. Once we receive the website refresh form it was submitted to the web developer and date stamped.
How long did each refresh take?
Depending on where a club stood in the queue work was completed in one week from the start time for your club, beginning with your design consultation call. Prompt feedback was expected for an expedient process.
