HANDS-ON CHRISTMAS PROJECTS

The Rotary Club of Ancaster AM has donated $5,000 to Ancaster Community Service for their Christmas Program. Rather than simply write a cheque the Rotarians decided to make it a “hands-on” project.  First - they spent an afternoon packing Christmas boxes for needy families.

The second step was to go to Food Basics and actually buy $5,000 worth of food, selected by ACS, and deliver it for packing in client boxes.  Pictured right is the pantry full of food.

unloading five vehicles full of cases of food.

The last step was on December 19 when the club provided four teams to deliver Christmas boxes to families.

The Ancaster AM Rotary Club also obtained a Rotary matching grant to purchase $5,100 of toys for Citykidz.

The second part of the project was to put a team together to wrap toys. Rotarians and friends spent a day wrapping gifts for children at Citykidz.
