EVER SHIFTING TIMES

Are you busier than ever?  Are you wondering if anything is ever going to get easier - not harder?  Are you thinking, "What can I do to help my Rotary / Rotaract club in these crazy times?"

Here are three time-efficient ways that you can help your club so it continues to thrive in these ever-shifting times.

  1. Start using the new platform “Raise for Rotary” to raise funds for The Rotary Foundation.  It is all set up for us to use.  You name the fundraiser.  You load in some pictures that help explain your project.  It then lets you share that event on your FaceBook page or twitter account.  Give it a try.  Use it to take part in our Participate for Polio event on October 24 (World Polio Day).  Tell your community about the wells that you are putting into Haiti or the library you are helping build in Rwanda in partnership with other Rotary clubs.  Educate others while raising donations online. Go to https://raise.rotary.org
  2. Go to the Rotary Showcase (https://map.rotary.org/en/project/pages/project_showcase.aspx) to see what amazing projects other clubs are doing all over the world.  You can search by area of focus or district or most recently added projects.  In less than two minutes, I found over 152 projects that are happening right in our District 7090.  Why start something new when perhaps you could partner with another Rotary club already committed to the same type of causes.  A shout-out to those behind the Market Street “packet parks” - a project being championed by the Rotary Club of Lockport where they are creating / maintaining parks all along the Erie Canal.
  3. If you need a new brochure telling people about your club and your projects, just go to the Rotary Brand Centre.  https://brandcenter.rotary.org/en-GB/Materials.  With a few clicks of the mouse, you can create your own brochure using Rotary templates.  Or a fresh new post for your FaceBook page.  It took me less than a minute to find and then load this picture into this article!
Now it is your turn.  Do share with me any tricks and tips that you have encountered that help our clubs to stay current, appealing, and effective.  My Rotary email is anne@d7090.org.
