ANNUAL FUND: WILL THIS BE A BANNER YEAR?

The Rotary Foundation has had a long standing Banner designation program which has proven to be very successful in recognizing the Foundation’s appreciation for Rotary clubs that financially support its grants and programs. The goal this year is to have all clubs actively involved in making progress toward becoming a 100% Foundation Giving Club, 100% Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) Sustaining Member Club, and/or one of the Top Three Clubs Per Capita in Annual Fund Giving.  Final certification for each of these categories is processed by the Rotary Foundation following the close of the Rotary year (June 30th).

This year some changes have been made to the banner program.  The previous 100% EREY and the 100% Sustaining Member Banners have been merged and there are now two new banners: the 100% Foundation Giving Banner and the 100% Paul Harris Society Banner.  The following is a list of the recognitions currently offered:

  • 100% Foundation Giving – This banner is awarded to clubs that achieve an average of US$100 and 100% participation with every active (dues paying) member contributing some amount to any/all designations including the Annual Fund, PolioPlus Fund, approved global grant, and/or the Endowment Fund during the Rotary year.
  • 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club – Every active (dues paying) member of the club must be a Paul Harris Fellow.  This banner recognition is only awarded one time to a Rotary club and the intention is that the club will keep its membership at this level. (The DG must confirm that all members are PHF’s.}
  • 100% EREY Sustaining Club – A club must achieve a US$100 per capita and every active (dues paying) member of the club must personally contribute $100 or more to the Annual Fund during that Rotary year.
  • Top Three Per Capita in Annual Fund Giving – Banners are given to the top three donating clubs in the District.  Clubs must achieve a minimum US$50 per capita in annual giving.
  • 100% Paul Harris Society Club – A minimum of US $1000 must be contributed outright to the Annual fund, PolioPlus Fund, and/or an approved global grant by every active member during that Rotary year.

In addition, badge stickers will be given to EREY Rotary Foundation Sustaining Members with Annual Fund contributions of $100 or more each year. The Paul Harris Society program recognizes donors who contribute $1000 or more annually to the Annual Fund, PolioPlus, or approved Foundation grants.
A valuable resource that everyone can take advantage of is the Donor History Report which includes your personal contribution history and recognitions summary.  This report can be viewed through My Rotary and you can also request this report by emailing RotarySupportCenter@Rotary.org

Will this be a banner year for District 7090?  You can make it a banner year by helping your club to receive one of the banners listed above.  In 2014 - 2015, under the leadership of PDG Art Wing, there were 15 clubs that achieved 100% EREY status and 10 clubs that achieved 100% sustaining member status as well as recognition for the Top Three Giving Clubs. This is our Foundation and by making it a primary designation for your charitable donations for the year, your club and our District can make a real difference in the world and in our communities.  Please try to do the best you can this year.  If you would like someone to come to your club to speak, I can be reached at ptcas34@gmail.com and I, the District Annual Fund Chair; the District Foundation Chair, Karen Oakes; or another member of the District Foundation Committee would be happy to make a presentation.
