BNMC HOLDS INAUGURAL CHILI COOK-OFF

On Sunday March 1st Rotary BNMC hosted its inaugural Chili Cook-Off fundraiser. The event featured entries from clubs around the district including BNMC, Buffalo, Buffalo Sunrise, Clarence, Kenmore and Olean. The well-attended event was the BNMC club’s first major fundraiser, drew Rotarians from across the district raising money to be used locally in Western New York.

Guests bought tickets that allowed them to vote for their favorite chili, as well as a special ticket to vote for their favorite sales pitch.

District Governor Jack Amico presented the BNMC Club white chili team as the winner for 2015, and awarded the red chili team with the honorable mention. The BNMC Board decided to award the 1st Place cash prize to the next winner:  Clarence Rotary, and the Honorable mention to the 4th winner:  Rotary Buffalo.  In photo, BNMC Rotarians Karen Johnson and Meg Keller-Cogan pose with the trophy after winning first place.

In addition to the chili, beer and wine were available. The event also featured many silent auction items.

The fundraiser would not have been nearly as successful as it was without the great fundraising committee, the generous sponsors, and the support of our fellow Rotarians and neighboring Rotary Clubs. We are already looking forward to next year’s event.
