YE HIGHLIGHT OF SOCIAL EVENT
Rotary Club of Buffalo’s first evening Social Event held at Templeton Landing at 5:00 PM went very well. It was so enjoyable to have time to socialize with fellow members and guests. We had six exchange students sharing the evening: Benedikt Honeder from Austria, Mikkel Toft from Denmark, Alban Savary De Beauregard from France, Amanda Marquez from Brazil, a former exchange student Ana Ono, and Elijah Desire who was leaving for Spain.
Host families were honored and given certificates in appreciation of their generosity for participating as a host family for Rotary Exchange students.— Laurie & Jon Albertsson, Paul & Maryann Marzello, John & Laura Bradley, Brian & Erin Casey, Hank & Faye Sokol, Betty Williams, Greg & Jill Norton, Christine Human, Gino DeGrazia, and Nancy Spector. We also welcomed a new host family, Ed & Nicole Castine.

DUCK DERBY FOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS
Rotary Club of Buffalo held it’s first DUCK DERBY at Buffalo’s Canalside. It was a beautiful day and our ducks were all sold within an hour of opening our booth! It was a very successful event thanks to the efforts of our hard working Rotarians! A portion of the proceeds was donated to the Special Olympics. District Governor Kevin Crosby and President Laurie Albertsson presented a check to Erica Raepple from Special Olympics along with super Special Olympics athlete, Nick Zmuda. Nick’s father Rick (center) was also on hand for the presentation.
