The Child Advocacy Center of Buffalo (CAC), an organization dealing with children who have been physically and sexually abused, needs stuffed animals!Ms. Elda Pichardo, a Forensic Interviewer (FI) for the organization, is helping to organize the new Rotary Satellite Club of Buffalo Sunrise - West Side. Her job at the CAC involves interviewing children (2 thru 17) who have been subjected to physical or sexual abuse.
Each child that comes into the Center is provided with a stuffed animal, as a coping mechanism for the trauma that they have endured. (If the case ends up in family or criminal court in a trial and the child were to testify, a stuffed animal is admissible in the courtroom.) The stuffed animals must be new, unused toys. Please, no “dolls” of any sort.
If you have donations, please call 716-886-5437 to arrange a drop-off. Alternately, contact Elda at 716-783-4404 or secretary@hispanicheritagewny.org. Items can then be dropped off at the Child Advocacy Center at 556 Franklin Street, Buffalo.
