WORKING TOGETHER

The Buffalo Sunrise Rotary Club had a busy September! On the 1st, we gathered at Susan McCartney’s house to welcome our two exchange students: Margherita (Italy) and Clothilde (France), pictured left.

On the 10th, we staffed an informational table at the Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market (and met a woman who worked at the scholarship office for RI in Evanston 50 years ago! We told her about our support for graduate students at Oxford and at Cambridge, and she beamed!)

We completed a collaborative project with the Orchard Park Lions and Buffalo Lafayette Optimist clubs, collecting used eyeglasses. We turned them in at the Lions’ meeting on the 15th, with the theme “Working Together Works Better”.

The next day, we met at Past President Denis LeFevre’s house, repairing and fixing up donated and discarded bikes for donation to a variety of organizations and individuals needing transportation.

To wrap up the month, we delivered a meal to the Kevin Guest House in Buffalo (we do this regularly) and packed boxes with food, at FeedMore WNY, for delivery to local food banks and homebound residents.
