COACHING FOR SUCCESS

District 7090 Centre for Coaching’s 1st session of the 2022 season was offered virtually on Saturday, January 22nd.  The session focused on coaching as a leadership model with real-life situations as examples and is available to all Rotarians in Zones 28-32.

Over 60 registrants from the Atlantic to the Pacific coasts in Canada and Northeastern USA were welcomed by Past Rotary International Director Jeffry Cadorette. PRID Jeffry is a strong and passionate advocate of the coaching model of leadership.  He provided real life examples where Rotarians, can use coaching and an empathic style of listening, to support their Rotary experience and  explained coaching’s value in our professional lives.

Al Lutchin from Hamilton Rotary and Angela Carter from the Fonthill Club lead a team of 10 Certified Executive Coaches who demonstrate the model and facilitate three interactive small-group breakout sessions during a 2-hour period.

Attendees provided a variety of feedback from the session. “As a relatively new Rotarian (March 2016) I truly appreciated this opportunity. I will certainly be encouraging our club members to consider this learning opportunity in the future.” “This was a very insightful and helpful session. The coaches, demos, and hands-on approach was exactly what I needed to remind me of the potential of coaching and why I need to continue to hone my skills and knowledge.”
"I found the coaching session useful in facilitating dialogue for the coaches to obtain their own answers. Having the coach ask what the end goal is, is helpful. Imagining what that goal looks like was empowering.”

The next 2-hour session is scheduled for Saturday, February 26th at 10:00 am ET. The third and final session, which includes a recap of Coaching and a special focus on conflict resolution is offered on Saturday, March 26th, 2022, at 10:00 am ET.  Registration is open for these two sessions through the District Events section of the District’s website and at https://rotary7090.org/event/centre-for-coaching--part-3/ .
