A CHANGE IS IN THE AIR - district changeover that is...

For Rotarians, June is the month where our clubs are winding down their Rotary years.  But with every year end, comes a new beginning. Clubs all across District 7090 are getting their new leadership in place, President Elects are completing their training, and club goals for service projects, Rotary Foundation and membership are being set for the upcoming Rotary Year.

But before we turn the page on the 2021-22 Rotary year, it is time to take a step back and recognize and celebrate all the clubs in Rotary District 7090 for the many ways that they have made a difference in their communities and around the world.

We also want to take the time to thank all those Rotarians who have stepped up to leadership roles at the District level and have distinguished themselves for their dedication to the District and clubs they serve.

And - we want to celebrate our new leadership and the promise of a new Rotary year.  This year we get the chance after two years to celebrate in person.  The District Governor Changeover Event will be held on June 25th in the historic Battle of Beaverdams Park, in Thorold, Ontario, Canada.  Beginning at 10:00 am and in conjunction with the Torch Run for the Canada Summer Games, all Rotarians are invited to join the party and see DG Anne Bermingham hand the gavel over to her successor, Lisa Bishop as the new D7090 DG (if they can successfully complete their portion of the torch run!). In addition, we will be joined by Rotary International Director Valarie Wafer who will help celebrate a little more history that day.  There will be much fellowship and refreshments will be available.

In order to be as inclusive as possible, and allow those who cannot make it to the in-person event, the District will hold a Virtual Changeover Celebration on Monday, June 27th at 7:00 p.m. on ZOOM. The event will celebrate the accomplishments of the clubs and the incoming leaders of the District.  Bring your favorite adult beverage or other drink of choice, as there will be many toasts made that evening.

For all the details of these two events, check out the District website at www.rotary7090.org.  Don't forget to register for either or both!  And we look forward to seeing you there!
