GLOBAL GRANTS UPDATE
M I N U T E S of the SEPTEMBER 2016 ROTARY FOUNDATION BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING:
Low-Cost Shelters and Simple Schools Statement: The Foundation maintains a ban on construction in global grants. Chairman Banerjee requested the Trustees to modify the ban to permit in a pilot period the construction of low-cost shelters and simple schools.
DECISION: The Trustees.
1. Approve a pilot to provide for the construction of low-cost shelters and simple schools within global grants by lifting the ban on construction for a three year period, beginning 1 January 2017. The low cost shelters guidelines and application appendix are available now in English. Translated versions will be coming soon. For full details, click here.
The information for simple schools will also be available soon.
