CALLING ALL 7090 CYCLISTS TO LIGHT UP ROTARY!!!!

The Ride For Roswell 2015 will take place June 26 and 27. In 2014, more than 10,000 riders and volunteers participated in the event and raised over $4.4 million. Throughout its history, The Ride has raised over $29 million for cutting-edge cancer research and compassionate, innovative patient-care programs at Roswell Park.  The Ride is Western New York’s largest single-day fundraising event, will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2015.

Service Committee Chair of BNMC Rotary and 7-year Roswell Park employee Anthony Billoni is planning to mark his first year as an inaugural member of BNMC Rotary by riding the Can-Am Route of The Ride.  He is also seeking fellow 7090 Rotarians to join a team so we can “Light Up Rotary” among the 10,000 riders and volunteers that participate.  “What better way for our clubs that put “Service Above Self” to get our name out there at the region’s largest and most well-known fund-raising event.” Billoni said.  He is seeking Rotarian cyclists and fitness enthusiasts of all levels of experience to join the team and give Rotary a presence. “Once we get a few riders I’d like for us to use our creative Rotary energy to make our team and our district visible during this great event.”

There are numerous routes to choose from ranging from 3 miles to 102 miles, cyclists of all abilities and with all kinds of bikes can do The Ride. Many cancer survivors and patients are part of the rider ranks.  To learn more visit www.rideforroswell.org.  For information and interest in joining the Rotary team call or text Anthony at 716-857-0527.
