Governor John's October Message

Greetings 7090 Rotarians!

Fall is once again upon us. The leaves are turning color and quickly dropping. One season is about to end and a new one to begin.

As I have shared before, I am enjoying the visits with our clubs. Our District has many active and creative clubs. I am in wonder as I learn all that our clubs are doing to assist their communities while also supporting our Rotary Foundation, Polio Plus, and helping with international projects. District 7090 Rotarians are impacting the lives of many. I have been especially grateful to hear how many clubs are assisting schools and local food pantries and shelters. It is a time of need and our clubs and their members are responding.

I would like to remind everyone of our District Conference on October 28, 29, and 30. Please join your fellow Rotarians as they learn more about the District and Rotary. Plenary session topics will include membership recruitment and retention, Polio Plus, and Group Study Exchange. Hear from an award winning reporter from western New York who spent time working as a seasonal farm hand. Hear the personal story of a Polio survivor and share the National Immunization Day experiences of two Rotarians. Join us at Saturday’s Foundation Dinner and help recognize clubs and individuals who have supported the Foundation. Stop in to hear about our New Generations programs and to attend the always entertaining Youth Exchange Students’ talent show. Meet new Rotarians at the House of Friendship and join them in a hospitality suite.

The time to register is now. The column to the left has links for registration. Sandy and I look forward to greeting you personally at the end of the month in Niagara Falls, New York, for the annual District Conference.
