Governor Karen says,
"THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY DREAM COME TRUE!"

Governor Karen with Her Rotary Club (Delhi)

Dear District 7090 Rotarians,

Once upon a time a dream came true, my dream to be District Governor.  Thank you D7090 Rotarians for making my dream come true! The past three years have been full of rich experiences and rewarding learning opportunities as I have prepared to serve you in this role.  I have gotten to know Rotary so much better as I have attended your many Club and Area events of fellowship and Rotary service.

Likewise, the first few days of this month have been filled with invitations to officiate at the installations of Club Presidents, Directors and Officers.  I have truly been honoured.  I have enjoyed also assisting with the inductions of new Rotarians, and celebrating with our new Rotaractors. The ceremonial handshake between our countries on the Peace Bridge on July 4th was another one of these most special events so early in my governorship.  We are the Best of Friends District! WELL DONE FELLOW 7090 Best of Friends ROTARIANS!

Rotary International President Ray Klinginsmith selected the following as his theme for this Rotary year 2010-2011: BUILDING COMMUNITIES - BRIDGING CONTINENTS.   I quote RI President Ray, "We build the spirit and resources of our local communities in an important way, and we are the best in the world at linking people of goodwill around the globe and then gaining their cooperation and support to make the world a much better place to live and work." RI President Ray has charged all of us to embrace the concept of "Bigger Better Bolder" in our clubs.  I am encouraged to hear our Club Presidents reflect on this timely opportunity in their acceptance speeches. As Rotarians, we must do our part to make our clubs Bigger Better Bolder for the good of our communities, our world.

July 19th, 2010 marks the beginning of my round of club visits and I look forward to meeting each of you personally to thank YOU for your work as a Rotarian!
