GET READY TO GROW

If your club has already added new members since July 1, congratulations and keep up the good work! If your club hasn’t added a new member since July 1, don’t worry, you will. In the spring, we will be launching a district-wide membership campaign from March 1 to May 31, 2016. Get ready to grow!

This will be unlike any membership campaign in recent memory. What makes it different and why am I so confident your club will benefit?  (Click above on DG News - District Wide Membership Campaign for full article).

  1. We will engage our District Membership Team in providing webinars, seminars and targeted communication with club membership chairs that will provide tools, strategies and support.
  2. We will engage our District Public Image Team in organizing and supporting regional public image efforts that promote awareness of the activities of clubs in each region and provide a convenient way for prospective members to learn about each club in that area.
  3. We will engage our District Alumni team in providing information to clubs about alumni of Rotary programs in their area. This is a large pool of great prospective members.
  4. We will engage our District Service Projects team in helping clubs schedule regular hands-on service projects (or fund-raising projects) during the campaign to ensure that recruits will have an opportunity to learn about Rotary through hands-on activities – not just by attending meetings. These projects will include multi-club activities as well as individual club activities.
  5. We will engage our District Training Team in providing webinars, seminars and other resources that will ensure that clubs are well-prepared to “on board” new members – helping to build their commitment to Rotary right from the start.
  6. We will engage our excellent team of Assistant Governors in the campaign, providing support to their clubs and acquiring additional support from the District as needed.

Through research, we know a lot about why people join Rotary and about best practices for growing membership. We will help clubs put this knowledge to use in their recruitment efforts. Also, we’ll be leveraging newer technology, like social media, to support the recruitment of new members. We’ll also be encouraging clubs to explore flexible meeting schedules and membership costs (e.g., meal cost) to accommodate the needs and constraints of new (and existing) members.

In January and February, we will be “gearing up” for this campaign with special programs and the preparation of key players. Stay tuned for more information and, most of all…. get ready to grow your club!
