DG Pravin says "Thank You"

 

What an Honor. Thank you... Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for allowing me the opportunity to serve as your District Governor for the Rotary Year 2009-2010.

 

 

A bout a year ago, I began my July 2009 message with a similar headline.

 

It has been a real honor to serve you, all my fellow Rotarians in District 7090, as your Governor. This past year has been an experience-of-a-lifetime and I would not trade it for anything in the world. I have shared and learned much about Rotary and what it means to be a Rotarian. Yes, this experience has changed my life and has made me a better person and a better Rotarian.

 

 

Rotary International Convention

 

I am writing this from Rotary International convention in Montreal. I am very proud of the fact that 250 Rotarians from our district have joined Sheela and me at the RI convention. It has been very exciting to run into all these District 7090 Rotarians every day and see that they are meeting Rotarians from all over the world and learning a lot about Rotary and its programs from the plenary sessions as well as dozens of break out sessions. I am excited about this participation from so many Rotarians. It should result in Bigger, Better and Bolder clubs when they return to their club and begin implementing some of the ideas they will pick up at the convention.

 

Rotary Fellowships

 

June is Rotary Fellowship month and the international convention was a great opportunity to visit hundreds of Rotary Fellowship booths in the House of Friendship. When was the last time you checked out a Rotary Fellowship? Select a few that interest you. Join. Get involved. Take advantage of this Rotary dividend. You will have fun. And you will meet lots of Rotarians with similar interest from all over the world.

 

Thank You

 

As this Rotary year comes to an end, I would like to offer all of you who were involved in the district my heartfelt thank you for what you did to make this Rotary year a great success. Each of you made a big impact on the success of the area(s) you were responsible for. I also want to thanks all the Past District Governors for your continued support and encouragement that you gave me during the year.

 

I am most thankful to the 73 Rotary Club Presidents in our district for leading your Rotary Club, the world's No.1 Service Club. Many thanks to all the 17 AGs in our district for their service to their area clubs and to the district. My gratitude also goes to RI President John Kenny for his leadership and inspiration and to the RI staff for their support to me personaly and to the clubs in the district.


Most importantly, THANK YOU to all my fellow Rotarians in District 7090 for your continuous support, enthusiasm and commitment. You have demonstrated

Service Above Self to the utmost.

 

Every one of you made a difference this year..

 

Although the Rotary year and my term as your Governor end on June 30, 2010, it is also the start of a new Rotary year on July 1, 2010. I urge all Rotarians in District 7090 to support our incoming District Governor Karen Oakes as we work together to Build Communities and Bridge Continents.

 

My wife Sheela and I look forward to meeting all of you again as I continue to travel around our District to work on various programs. I know I will find willing hands to help me and help the district. I also know that you will not stand idly by, and that you will be there for those who need you and will enjoy each others fellowship in serving to meet the needs of others... Because the Future of Rotary Is In Your Hands.
