Come and Celebrate 100 Years of Rotary in Canada at Montreal

The Rotary International Convention in Montreal is just a month away, and there is still time to register and get a nice hotel at a reasonable cost. In addition to the past, present and incoming Rotary International leaders, there are some great speakers' presentations at the convention.

Join more than 21,000 other Rotarians from 150 countries at the 101st Rotary International Convention in the beautiful city of Montreal - a visit to Europe without leaving North America. Please go to the district or RI web site, click on the Montreal convention link and read more about the speakers and events at the convention, to register for the convention and locate a good hotel. Many District 7090 Rotarians will be attending the convention, and I hope to see you all in Montreal next month.

District Doings

Now back to the District business. It is the middle of May and time for Club presidents to reflect on what they and their club have accomplished this year . Rotary is an organization made up of volunteers, and their only reward is the satisfaction that they made a difference in the club. This is a good time to select those Rotarians who were responsible for the success of the programs and fundraisers in your club and recognize them with Certificates of Appreciation and other appropriate recognitions. T here is still time left to meet some of this year's critical goals.

Rotary Foundation and Polio Plus : There is still time to make contribution to the Rotary Foundation and Polio Plus if your club has not done so. Individual Rotarians may also want to review how much you have contributed this year and see if you can do more.

Membership:  There is still enough time to bring in new members. Wouldn't it be great if every club would make that extra ordinary effort and recruit one new member between now and June 30th? You also may want to help achieve membership growth next year by organizing a recruitment event before the end of June.

Membership Retention: As the year comes to an end, remember that a member retained is one less you have to recruit next year. Historically, July is the time when clubs lose most members. Why not take some steps now to ensure that this does not happen in your club this year. Take stock of your membership and talk to those members who you believe may not be renewing their membership before it is too late.

Remember, The Future of our World is in your hands!
