DG Rick's July Message

Another Rotary year is wrapping up and a new one is beginning. District Governor John Heise and his team have done an outstanding job leading us this past year.

On June 24th, at the Changeover luncheon, I had the pleasure, on behalf of all the Rotarians of District 7090, to present John with a one of a kind Iroquois pot by Steven Smith of Talking Earth pottery. This pot was made especially for him as a thank you for a job well done.

John is known for his calm handling of the issues and getting the job done. Besides being Immediate Past District Governor, this coming year John will be leading a specialized team to assist Clubs with issues that they need help with. If your Club is facing some challenges, contact IPDG John!

John will also be heading up Pets 2 in the spring and then taking over from Kevin Crosby the following year as Training Director. John is a dedicated and valued Rotarian. Thank you John and Sandy!!

It is time to focus on a new Rotary year.  We are very excited about RI President Sakuji Tanaka’s theme for our year, PEACE THROUGH SERVICE.  Peace can be more than conflict resolution. It can be a full stomach or clean water. It can even mean satisfied customers.  During the coming year each Club will be challenged to conduct a club or community peace forum, or a service project focused on peace.

My personal theme for District 7090 for the coming year is HIGH FIVE! You will hear more during my Official District Governor visits this fall.

The  goals that I am challenging us to achieve are:
