PROUD TO BE HANDING OUT MONEY

Holy Smokes:  We've done it again! The Rotary Club of Fort Erie (RFE) has once again handed out cheques to various worthwhile charities and organizations from its fundraiser events for Community Services.

On June 11th, Mayor Redekop and Niagara Regional Councilor Insinna was present for the event held at St. Andrew Knox's Presbyterian Church's grassy lot.

Leaders/Administers/Chairs of the following Charities and Organizations were at hand to receive $1500 cheques:  Salvation Army, South Niagara Life Ministries, Meals on Wheels, Matthew House, and Army Cadets.  RFE also donated a cheque of $500 to St. Andrew Knox's Presbyterian Church.

The event was then followed by a small BBQ of hotdogs.  It was a time for all to interact and catch up on events and such.  A relaxed time for people to meet each other.  We had hoped to have the neighbors walking by to join us for a free hotdog.

In early June, RFE also donated $3000 to support 6 Little League Baseball teams with T-shirt, Baseball bats and gloves, caps and even a Baseball Clinic.

At the end of June, RFE gave 5 scholarships to students in the Fort Erie and Port Colborne area.  $500 went to a Culinary Student   $500 went to a Drama student.  And finally, 3 $1000 scholarships went to 3 deserving students in general.

In total, RFE handed out $15,000 to the community in the month of June.
