DG FRANK'S APRIL MESSAGE - ARE YOU WITH US?

As you know DGN Lisa Bishop and I have been promoting an exciting Service Project involving the Environment and Rotary International’s 7th Area of Focus, The Great Lakes Watershed Cleanup being held during the week of Earth Day, which is the 22nd of April, 2021.  And I know that many of you are on board.  Thank You!

I am inviting you and every club in our District to consider supporting this multi-district initiative.

Why should you participate?
  • To help clean up our environment
  • To be “People of Action”
  • To partner and work with other Rotary Clubs in your area
  • To get away from ZOOM

  • To be part of the single largest cleanup event to be held around Earth Day
  • To remove some of the 22 million pounds of trash that pollutes the Great Lakes yearly
  • To promote Rotary and your Club in your Community
  • To reach out to non-Rotarians to help us (Potential Members)
  • To involve youth, Interactors, Rotaractors, Students
  • To educate the public about the effects of littering
  • To instill a sense of stewardship
  • Good Club promotion before and after on your social media platforms
I would ask you to email me at fadamson@vaxxine.com to inform me if you plan to participate, the waterway you will be cleaning up, the day(s) you will do this, the number of club members who will be participating, and who else are you going to invite or Organizations you will collaborate with. ie. Riverkeepers, Conservation Authorities, Parks Commissions, etc.  To download the metrics chart, click here

On another note, I believe that our District Conference was a great success.  A big shout out to the DISCON Team co-chaired by DGN Lisa Bishop and PDG Melisa Schrock.  We were fortunate to have participation from RIPP Barry Rassin, Australian Evan Burrell, former Brantford ROTEX Elaine Hernandez from Texas, RID and RIVPE Valarie Wafer and our own local presenters. Lisa will have more to say about this in her report.  The 4 sessions were recorded and are made available on the District website.

Cheers,

Frank, Governor
