As east and west coasts of North America swelter in heat, humidity, fires; Grand Island Rotary had a pleasant outdoor meeting on July 27 under ideal conditions to review possible FUNdraising projects for the coming year.Member Diane Garey, President Sherry Miller, and an outside group explained projects like: Collecting and recycling used sneakers to keep them out of landfills (and make a few $’s); Running Pluck a Duck in Town Park, advertising / selling re-usable grocery bags. All interesting ideas needing further study. No final decisions, but a pleasant evening with both service planning and socializing – a great combination!
