SUMMER LITERACY CAMP 2022 & MORE

The Rotary Club of Hamilton’s summer literacy camp has come to an end, and the children that participated all had smiles and excitement on their faces. This was the 22nd year that literacy summer camp has taken place, and the Rotary Club of Hamilton has sponsored it for 10,000 children since its inception. This is a free camp offered by Rotary Club of Hamilton, allowing all families within Hamilton the opportunity to send their child to a camp regardless of their financial situation.

As Rotary Club of Hamilton Director of Communications Adam Oldfield said, “We are thrilled to be able to offer this literacy camp for another year. The children always have a great time and we love being able to help them improve their literacy skills.” The Rotary Club of Hamilton wants to thank all the families that sent their children to the literacy camp and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year.

LITTLE LIBRARY BOX - HONORS CHRIS CUTLER

The Rotary Club of Hamilton is pleased to announce that a new Little Library Box will be placed in front of Cathy Wever School. The new Little Library Box will be named in honour of Rotarian Christopher Cutler, who was a big supporter of literacy projects and placed many books in the box. The current Little Library Box is in need of a refresh, and the new Little Library Box will include a plaque recognizing Chris’ contributions to literacy and Rotary. An official unveiling will be planned for September.  Rotary Hamilton is grateful for Chris’ support of literacy projects and his commitment to Rotary’s mission of Service Above Self.
