THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT - INSPIRES CLARENCE

I have incredible news to share with you.   As I mentioned during your club visit, the video that you played at our Spring conference about “The Butterfly Effect” was very inspiring to me.  Such a small act of kindness can go a long way…and that is what Rotary is all about…one act of kindness after another...Here is the video as a reminder - The Butterfly Effect.

To make a long story short -

enhancing our youth programs were a major goal for my presidential year.  We were coming into a year where our Interact club was turning the corner for a revival, and I wanted to take advantage of this momentum.  Paul had made the suggestion that we take this “Butterfly Effect” that we saw in this video you played - and do something with it.  Today, our club joined the Interact Club’s morning meeting (which now has close to, if not more than 100 students involved), and played this Butterfly Effect video.  After this video played - we handed out 50 - $50 bills to teams of 2-3 (due to the unexpected size of participants), and instructed them to go make a difference in the world.  On May 19, 2016, we are planning on reconvening to celebrate and reflect on the outcome of today’s launch - giving the students approximately six months to do something with this opportunity.

Before we even left the room, students were coming up to us with ideas they want to try with the money.  To see our Interact at that size - with kids that enthusiastic about making a difference in the world - was incredible.  I wish Chris Rosati could somehow know how his act of kindness has continued even further…

I have attached some photos from today.  Please know that you, and anyone else from district are welcomed to join us on May 19, 2016 (I don’t have a lot of details yet regarding time or location - but I will let you know).

If you have any questions, or if you would like more information - please let me know.

It was an incredible day for Interact, Rotary, and our community.  Thank you!
