BABY, IT'S COLD OUTSIDE

The Coldest Night of the Year is a moment when tens of thousands of Canadians step outside the warmth and comfort of home and shine a light of welcome and inclusion. This year the event was held virtually in our area and the Zoom wrap-up took place Saturday, February 20. The Coldest Night of the year is a covid-safe, family-friendly walk to raise money for charities serving people experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger.

Together, we collected donations that fund critical services at a local charity partner who serves and supports vulnerable families and individuals in our community.

CNOY West Niagara raised funds and supports for the YWCA's West Niagara Affordable Housing program that serves families facing homelessness in West Niagara.

The Coldest Night of the Year Walk was a great success all the goals were surpassed.

The Canadian goal was $8,000,000 and as of February 20, $9,154,930 has been collected.
West Niagara Goal was $50,000 and $71,608 has been collected.

Our team of Lincoln Rotarians came in 3rd in fundraising for West Niagara with a grand total of $5,125. Congratulations to our team Sue Foster, Martha Kralt, Margaret Andrewes, Nancy Neville, and last, but not least, our hopefully soon-to-be new Rotarian  Katie Appleyard.
