DG John’s May Message

As the end of the Rotary year approaches, I have taken time to reflect on all that I have experienced as I traveled around the District. With each club I have visited I was constantly reminded that Rotarians, locally and internationally, have a positive impact on their communities as well as improving the lives of many around the world. As Rotarians we are continuously putting Service Above Self. We are constantly looking for a need to be met. From wells to literacy programs to vaccinations we are moving as one to improve the lives of others. Rotarians take action. We reach out to others. We use our skills and vocations to organize, build, dig, and support. We change lives globally and locally.

We do this individually, as members of a club, and as an international group dedicated to service. One of the effective ways we do this is through our Rotary Foundation. By contributing to the Foundation we are creating pathways to world peace. The Foundation programs bring hope throughout the world. The Polio Plus program is one example. We have already given millions of children hope by ensuring they will not be handicapped by polio.

Our contributions to the Foundation’s Annual Fund multiple the effect we have on others. By pooling our resources we can support many types of projects. All of them move us along the journey to world peace.
