REFURBISHED AND READY

Thanks to a generous community, 32 students will own refurbished and up to date laptops to help with this year’s school challenges. Donated by Hillfield Strathallen College and tuned up by greenByte, a program of St Leonard’s Society Hamilton, the Rotary Club of Hamilton AM was selected as the charity of choice to distribute them to Hamilton students after covering the new licensing costs.

On September 18, nine units were delivered to Liberty for Youth, an organization that has recipients ready and waiting for their laptops.  LfY Executive Director Frederick Dryden offered his comments, “These laptops will help youth in our Bright Choices Program complete homework and achieve academic success.  We are very grateful!”

On Thursday, September 24, 2020, at 2:00 pm a group of 23 senior students at Hess Street School will also think they won the lottery!  Principal John Brandley knows firsthand the need for such technology in senior public and high schools.  The move to online learning in education, brought on by COVID-19, has made up to date technology essential to success in school.  The presentation will take place at the front of the school.

The Rotary Club of Hamilton AM’s efforts to serve the Hamilton community span 34 years and through its fundraising efforts the club has donated over 3 million dollars just where it is needed!
