COMING TO D7090 - A NEW GENERATIONS EXCHANGE

New Generations Service Exchange (NGSE) is coming to District 7090! NGSE is a young adult exchange program offered by Rotary International. The Exchange is available for anyone ages 18-30 years old, and the successful applicant is provided the opportunity to learn more about their career/vocation in another country.

You might be wondering, what is your job as a host? There is no cost to host an inbound or sponsor an outbound! As a host, the Rotary Club provides a host family, and encourages the participant to engage in local Rotary club projects, and could also serve as a potential aid in helping to identify placements that could be contacted in the future!

When our district receives an inbound, we would work to provide an opportunity to allow the successful applicant to learn about their career/vocation in Canada or the United States, and the young adult would be given tasks and work to do that the host feels the person is capable of.

If accepted, the young adult is responsible to pay for their own travel and liability insurance, as well as their own spending money for personal expenses. If the individual wants to drive, they are able to if they have an international license and insurance. As they are adults, there are different rules than there would be in Youth
Exchange, however, the expectation remains that the individual upholds the Rotary values.

To learn more about how your club can get involved, or if you would like more information, please reach out to either NGSE Co-Chair lead Clair Harkness at claireeharkness@gmail.com or Kelly Kiebala at Kelly.Kiebala@orleanscountyny.go.
