The relay takes place over six weekends in Niagara in each of the 12 communities that make up the region. The day before, it had taken place in Thorold where the District's very own Governor Anne Bermingham and incoming Governor Lisa Bishop carried the torch in the actual relay!
Rotary has been very visible in the 12 communities where the relays are taking place. Various clubs will also be participating during the Games as volunteers. It was mentioned several times during the presentations before and after the relay how important Rotary has been in making the Games a success.
It’s good to give back to the community, it’s fun for the club to be involved as Rotarians and it gives Rotary a very visible presence over a long period time. Everyone wins during these games.
