The Rotary Club of Norfolk Sunrise has partnered with the Port Dover Lions Cub, Stedman Community Hospice and other local Lions Clubs to open a Palliative Care satellite office in Port Dover, Ontario. The goal is to provide a seamless continuum of care to Norfolk County area residents and their families as support for each step of their end of life journey...
Local Lion Bob Pomeroy and RCNS member Ross Gowan met in 2015 to lay the groundwork. "We are celebrating today the foundation of what is going to grow from here, a community that wraps itself around those who need it," said Gowan.
President Bernardo of St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre said that Ontario Minister of Health Dr. Eric Hoskins is aware of this palliative care satellite office in Ontario that community organizations have stepped forward to establish.
