The Niagara on the Lake Rotary Club had the pleasure of hosting this year’s joint lunch meeting of local Niagara clubs in White Oaks conference centre. It was very well attended by Rotarians from the three St Catharines clubs, Niagara Falls, Welland, Fonthill, Ancaster, Niagara on the Lake - Lewiston and the SOWNY e-club.  This was largely due to our phenomenal speaker, Past RI President Wilf Wilkinson.

 

PRIP Wilf entertained the members with some personal stories and gave a fascinating insight into the workings of the Rotary Foundation.

 

His Statement, "The Rotary Foundation is the closest thing that we have to real magic" struck a chord with his audience.  Apparently, life after being a RI president does not put one on the back burner; after this meeting he was taking a quick trip to Dubai and then on to Tulsa Oklahoma for their club's 100th anniversary - they booked him 7 years ago!

 

Wilf's enthusiam and energy reminded our attendees of what Rotary is all about.
