PEDAL FOR POLIO
Please join us for the second annual Dr. Ron Mergl Pedal for Polio fundraiser to be
held on Saturday October 2, 2021 starting at Queenston Heights Park, Canada.
We are seeking volunteers to assist in the event and cyclists/walkers.
This year the ride will start at the Pavilion in the Park and go to Niagara Falls and
return. The distance is 12 km. one way. The Rotary Club of Niagara-on-the-Lake is
once again hosting the event at the park. A food truck is being arranged.
On the American side the plan is to start in Lewiston going to Niagara Falls and
return and across the Bridge to Queenston to celebrate with the Canadian riders.
For those avid cyclists desiring a longer ride they can start in Ft. Erie ending at the
Park and returning. Distance is 40 km. one way.
Our goal is to raise $60,000 USD. We will be using the raise.rotary.org fundraising
platform again this year. A page has been set up. Google raise.rotary.org/Frank-
Adamson/challenge and donate directly or tab onto Team Members to set your own
page. Many of you did this last year.
So, we are asking that each Club to find a cyclist or two and register. We can
accommodate 100 cyclists.
If you have any questions, recommendations or suggestions please let me know.
