ZOOMING IN

On April 8, the Rotary Club of St. Catharines South hosted the annual joint Rotary lunch.  This was on Zoom of course, with Rotarians enjoying their lunch in the comfort of their own homes, or offices.

77 Rotarians from several Niagara clubs Zoomed in. The guest speaker was Adam Shoalts, local explorer and youthful author.  Dr. Shoalts has made numerous voyages across the wilds of northern Canada, mostly on his own.  The Toronto Star has written "Adam Shoalts is Canada's Indiana Jones - portaging in the north, dodging scary rapids, plunging into darkness, and surviving to tell the tale."

His most recent books are 1) Alone Against the North, 2) the History of Canada in Ten Maps, and 3) Beyond the Trees.  Various Rotary Clubs and members purchased 25 books of his.  The purchases by the South Club were financed from the Bingo proceeds thanks to Delta Bingo.  We are giving books to each of the 5 local High Schools that we support.  Attached is the photo of Dr. Shoalts autographing the books, which also have a Rotary wheel sticker in them.
