HITTING IT OUT OF THE BALL PARK

The Rotary Clubs of Waterdown (Waterdown and Flamborough AM) host their annual Ribfest over the July long weekend.  They received a very kind and thoughtful email that they wanted to share:

To the Entire Waterdown Rotary Team,

Congratulations – what an awesome event!!

There was so much pent-up energy and desire for the return of the Oh Canada Ribfest and the Rotary Clubs of Waterdown delivered an amazing three days of fun to completely satisfy the excited masses! Food, music, community involvement, fireworks, record attendance, cooperative weather – the 2022 Waterdown Ribfest hit it out of the ball park.

It is a cast of hundreds that makes Ribfest possible – but it is a smaller handful of very special leaders who spend months in planning; work around the clock to execute the plans; and then stay long after the last rib has been served to close ‘er down and put the park back together again. Time and again, I saw each of you rolling up your sleeves to jump on any task at hand – whether that be moving tables and chairs, pounding fence posts, hanging signs, corralling musicians, managing volunteers or hauling garbage. It is an inspiration to witness the collaboration and commitment first hand.

Please will extend my congratulations to the rest of the team, but I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your dedication and for showing the true meaning of ‘pay it forward’, both by hosting a signature event for Waterdown Village, and by raising funds that go right back into our local community.

I hope you’ve all had an opportunity to clean up, rest up, put your feet up and bask in the glory that was Ribfest 2022.
