WOMEN WHO CARE

Members of the Rotary Club of Waterdown accepted a cheque for $6,900 from the Flamborough Chapter of 100 Women Who Care in mid-October. The funds will be used to support the Food4Kids Program - ensuring food packages are delivered each week to students in local schools who are experiencing food insecurity.  This program was started by Michael Collette and Darryl Kirkland in 2017 and over the years has supplied meals to two local grade schools – Mary Hopkins and Alan Greenleaf year-round (including the summer).

Up to this year, funding was generated from Rotary brunches held through the summer at the local Legion.  This summer, the club was unable to host the community brunch events due to COVID-19 restrictions.  The $6900 will be used to enable this valuable program to continue.

LEAF RAKING FOR SENIORS

On Saturday, October 31st 20 Rotary Club of Waterdown members and immediate family members took to the streets (and yards) of some local seniors and raked leaves!  It was a beautiful warm day for the event which saw four PODS of Rotarians rake and bag leaves for local seniors in need.   The seniors sincerely appreciated the help and our Rotarian members enjoyed the camaraderie!
