YE STUDENTS ENGAGED AND INVOLVED

Since the District conference in October, our inbound students have continued to engage and involve themselves within the communities and families of their host Clubs all across 7090. Volunteering at their schools and with their Clubs; competing at curling, sailing, soccer, and hockey;  singing in choirs, acting in plays, these outstanding kids continue to breath life and spirit into our homes and communities while they themselves continue to experience life and opportunities that they could never imagine! So many thanks to all participating Clubs for your continued support and participation!

The first weekend in December all of our inbounds regathered in Buffalo for a weekend of touring, fun and camaraderie. Tours of Ralph Wilson stadium, and First Niagara Centre, world famous Buffalo wings and pizza, and of course outdoor skating at the Rotary Rink were highlights of an exceptionally enjoyable weekend!

Clubs have also set forth the next crop of potential outbound candidates who promise to be another group of outstanding representatives of District 7090 in their travels abroad. Pictured below is the District Youth Exchange hard at work deliberating over student placement following the District interviews that were conducted January 9th and 10th.

We very much are looking forward to this year’s annual Algonquin expeditions with all of our inbounds and newly selected outbound candidates.  Trip 1 leaves on February 3rd and passes by the Trip 2 bus heading north on highway 400 on February 6th all wrapping up on their return February 9th. Every year, this trip tends to be the highlight for so many of our students. Hats off to Greg Norton and his team in his continued hard work and dedication to this outstanding event!
